Hi, Thanks for adding my article here. Yes, I have noticed some deaf people giving up their speech, after immersing themselves in ASL and deaf culture. I guess, depending on their background, and their feelings toward being oppressed for many, many years. I looked at speech training in a positive way at least or lighter way. I thought since I had so many hours on speech training, why not using the speech. I do not use the speech, but when I use it, I feel more confided in using speech than I did before.
