Deaf Actress in Jericho

Shoshannah Stern, a deaf actress, is a cast member of Jericho, a new CBS TV show about the after-effects of a nuclear mushroom cloud appearing in the distance from Jericho, a small town in Kansas. Stern is a fourth generation member of a deaf family. Her brother and sister are also deaf.
She attended California School for the Deaf and Gaulladet University. Stern has guest-starred on Providence, Boston Public, and ER. She has a recurring role in Weeds, a Showtime show. She’s the only deaf actor to have a major role in two prime time TV shows in the same season.

I don’t mind the deaf actress, but as far as the rest of the cast is concerned, I have not seen that many worn out old faces since I saw the Stones in concert. Boy, did they screw up the casting or what?? Not to mention the writing was real lame in places as well…they had the most intriguing plot of the new shows and blew it BIG!

  4. Jericho is not getting good reviews… so I’m sure they’re not going to be around much longer.

so far, it’s standard “Alas, Babylon”.
in two weeks, the staples of salt and coffee
    will be currency.
if the show’s realistic, then the females will
sell what they were born with and the alpha males
    will eliminate all comp.
Lord of the Flies with teenagers.
    here’s my timeline:
    epi #2: refugees.
    3: water.
    4: epidemic.
5: visit from surviving fed gov.
    6: scavengers (Mad Max/Postman).
7: contact with other surviving societies.
    8: war/conflict with above.
    9: Romeo/Juliet with above.
    10: wedding/pregnancy and cliffhanger.

I agree about totally blowing it. How is it possible that the writers would come with such a bang (pardon the pun) and then not want to give out any more information about the situation they have created. How many episodes have gone by and so far the only exciting thing we’ve seen other than the initial pandemonium, is an abandoned plane (which told us nothing) and a couple of mystery broadcasts (which also told us nothing). I believe in creating suspense, but not prolonging it to the point of boredom. I have watch three episodes of the show trying to give it a chance and EVERYTIME I turn it off out of extreme diasappointment.
Take tonight’s episode for example. They have devoted practically the whole episode to a stupid fire that happened under completely ridiculous circumstances, then give us another broadcast tease (which AGAIN tells us nothing), and finally ends with two rockets in the sky. B-O-R-I-N-G! Why haven’t they done anything more with mysterious Hawkins, or done anymore exploring to see what’s going on outside of Jericho. There have been five episodes and we barely know anything. If this turns out to be the type of show in which the first real occurance of interest happens in the season finale I’m gonna be pissed, and I can guarantee I won’t wait that long to get a little excitement. I gotta say this show has been a total disappointment for a premise that had such potential.

  5. I disagree, I think the shows timing is awesome. If you spill the whole story in 2 or 3 shows whats left to tell? I think tonights show was excellent as well. They are building enough backstory and details to last through the wam bam alot of shows put out. Bravo to Jericho
