Marlee Matlin out of DWTS

Aww… Marlee Matlin was ousted on this week’s Dancing with the Stars. I hated to see her go, but the last two weeks didn’t go well for her and Fabian. After all, this is a dancing contest, not a popularity contest. I voted for her, of course.
I had hoped she recover from last week’s less than stellar performance since her partner specialized in mambo. But it wasn’t enough. According to judge Carrie Ann, the mambo focused on the relationship with the music more than any other dance.
I hope she’s proud of her work and that deaf people are proud of her for representing us.
I finished Sweet Nothing in My Ear and thought the movie portrayed the issues well. Marlee Matlin, Jeff Daniels, Phyllis Frelich, and Ed Waterstreet did a superb job in their roles.
Did you know Phyllis Frelich and Ed Waterstreet also played a couple in Love Is Never Silent?

I was disappointed that MM was eliminated. She did such a good job and really showed people that a person can do anything she wishes if she will work hard enough. I was really proud of her. Didn’t she look beautiful last night.

It was correct that MM was eliminated. Her last dance did not reach the level of the dance of other couples. Last Monday, we can see huge difference between the dance of MM and other dances. I know that deaf people can dance but they cannot compete with hearings since it’s crucial to hear music. Though she has my respect.

I am very proud of Marlee Matlin. More than 20 million TV viwewers witnessed her grace, class, and style when she thanked everybody.
Such a lady with dignity and courage. It would be hard for me not to hold my tears were I in her shoes, agree?
In view of her profound deafness without either cochlear implant or hearing aids, I was so impressed with her ability to dance.

That truly impressed even me. I can’t imagine dancing without my hearing aid except when I am copying a lone dancer on my screen. It’s different when you’re not watching anyone.

  2. It took a lot of guts and courage to do Dancing with the Stars, and boy, is Marlee one gutsy gal.

I agree, Marlee Maitlin did great and it took lots of courage for her to do these type of dances.
I loved how the audience recognized Marlee Maitlin and applauded her despite her last few dances not going well.
Way to go Marlee! A true leader for our little Deaf girls and boys wanting to be professional dancers!

I also loved how the audience waved their hands in the air to clap for her. That’s respect.
